Halloween is the perfect time to host an escape room game party!
Construct fun and remarkable way to celebrate Halloween this year. Let us guide you through everything you need to know to plan the ultimate Halloween escape room game party, from spooky décor to ghoulish games. We’ve got everything you need to make your party scream!
Planning ahead is always the key. By being prepared and checking availability in advance, you can avoid any unexpected surprises. By taking care of all the details in advance, you can relax and enjoy your event worry-free!
Plan some fun activities, before the escape room game, during and after. Here’s how you do it:
Before attending the escape room party
Search for the availability of your preferable date and time. Ask questions to ensure you are happy with your booking. Make sure there is enough parking for your group etc. You can also check the frequently asked questions section on our website.
Reach out to potential participants. The more your guests have to prepare, the better. They can reserve the time in their schedule, as well as let you know about any catering needs. This is key especially if you’re catering to guests with allergies.
Food and Drinks
Once you know guests’ preferences for food and drink, make sure you have plenty of refreshments throughout the day. Include some spooky snacks and Halloween-themed drinks.
For the adults, why not try a Witches’ Brew punch? Just mix together some orange juice, lemonade, club soda, and vodka. Add a few droplets of green food colouring and float some plastic spiders on top.
For the kids (and designated drivers), there’s nothing better than candy corn punch! Simply mix together some orange juice, lemonade, and club soda. Then add in a bag of candy corn and voila! You have a festive punch that’s sure to please.
And no Halloween party is complete without spooky cookies! Chocolate spider cookies are impressive. Also, mummy cupcakes are guaranteed to be a hit with the kids. Simply bake some cupcakes, then ornate them with white icing and candy eyes.
Fruits and vegetables are always a good choice. Or you could make some fun finger foods like mini pizzas or chicken nuggets. They are all great options for easy-to-eat snacks that will keep everyone happy.
Decorations
First, dress up for the occasion. Not only will you get to role-play as your favourite characters, but you’ll also have a blast playing make-believe.
Costumes and props often decide between a good time and an unforgettable time. Props can help guests get into the party spirit and have some fun. They will also look amazing in all the photos you will take.
Second, convert your home into an eerie house with creepy props too. For a traditional look, blow up some black and orange balloons and scatter them around the room. Cover walls with spider webs, place skeletons around the room and hang eerie lights to create a spooky setting. Create a spooky ambience by hanging bats or ghosts from the ceiling or doorways.
And at last, play some spooky music in the background. Sleepy Hollow Soundtrack is one of the best.
During the escape room party
During the Escape room game, you and your team will have to work together to solve puzzles and find clues in order to escape the room before time runs out.
One of the best things about coming in costumes is that they can help bring your favourite characters to life. So whether you’re looking to dress up as your favourite superhero or play pretend as a famous historical figure, don’t be afraid to let your imagination run wild.
If you love Harry Potter, for example, you can use props like capes, wands, and pointy hats to turn the party into a Harry Potter mystery-solving adventure.
To some of our Escape Room locations, you can bring your own Halloween cake, food and drinks. For example in Croydon, our Escape room venue is able to cater sandwiches, crisps, fruit and squash. So you can keep your party happy even during the game!
It is always good to identify any potential risks that could occur during the game and put measures in place to mitigate these. For example, do you need to bring along spare clothing for children in case of accidents? Or you might bring a sewing kit in case wardrobe malfunctions occur in your homemade costumes.
After the party
For something a little more low-key, during a ride back home, try playing “Halloween I Spy.” One player starts by saying “I spy with my little eye something that is…”
Bobbing for apples: Fill a large bowl with water and add several apples. Guests take turns trying to bite into an apple while keeping their hands behind their back – it’s harder than it sounds!
Pumpkin bowling: Set up some empty soda bottles or plastic cups as pins at the end of a hallway or long table. Players take turns rolling a small pumpkin down the lane and try to knock down as many pins as possible.
A costume contest and pumpkin carving contest are Halloween traditions that many people enjoy. If you decide to organise one, make sure you have some great prizes lined up for the winners. This will help motivate people to enter and also make the contests more fun. Prizes can be anything from gift cards to Halloween candy to homemade goodies.
At home, it is finally time to vote for the best costumes of the day. This can be done by having people write down their favourite costumes or by having people vote with their feet by walking around and looking at all of the different costumes. The winners must be rewarded before the end of the day!
Most importantly, make certain you and your friends and family have a blast during this year’s Halloween! Escape room games are meant to be great fun, so make sure you take plenty of photos and create lasting memories with all your pals.
