Why Escape Rooms Are The Perfect Post-Lockdown Activity

COVID-19 is on everyone’s minds at the moment. Wherever you go, whatever you do, it’s there lurking in our subconscious.

With a world waiting with anticipation for a vaccine, life as we know it has been turned upside down.

Exciting Escapes have been closed for the duration of the lockdown. We have been eagerly waiting for new government guidelines and figuring out what the “new normal” may look like.

Now, with the hope of re-opening on the horizon, we thought we would let you know what we have planned to do to keep the risks at a bare minimum and turn the fun back up to the max!

We want to demonstrate that, post-lockdown, an escape room is the perfect opportunity to leave the home and do something incredibly fun with the family.

Avoid the Crowds

Escape Rooms are the perfect opportunity to avoid the crowds.

Unlike the roaring highstreets that are full to the brim with queuing customers, you can rest assured that your socially-distanced bubble won’t be popped!

You and your family can enjoy solving the mysteries within our Escape Room without the outside ruining your style.

Leave your COVID-19 fears at the door and revel in the most thrilling adventure you will experience.

Fun for all the Family

Desperate to get out of the house? You’ve been stuck there for a while, huh?

Booking into Exciting Escapes is an ideal family bonding experience. Not only will it allow you to reconnect in ways impossible during lockdown, but it will also give you a whole other space to explore together.

If communication has been difficult due to working from home, anxiety and all the other lockdown blues, solving our Escape Room will draw you closer together as a family.

Adapting to the Change

Government guidelines are continually evolving.

Our aim at Exciting Escapes is to adapt to make you feel comfortable and at ease as well as ensure we’re in-line with what the government is saying.

From the moment you enter to the moment you leave, you will only encounter one member of our staff.

All of our team will be kitted out with PPE and will be wearing a mask and gloves when you see them. There will also be ppe options available for you.

Here are some of the changes we are making:

How we run the games

  • There will now be a reduced number of games played per day
  • Games will be increased to 2 hours rather than an hour and a half – this will ensure no overlap for teams arriving and leaving
  • All objects and surfaces that have been touched will be carefully sanitised due to the increased game time
  • Gloves will be available free of charge for anyone who would like them to handle our in-game objects

How are we different?

Unlike a restaurant, museum or even a hospital, an Escape Room is far less of a risk to our customers. The very concept of an Escape Room lends itself to minimal risk.

With free gloves on offer for you to wear and a well-determined sanitisation process in place, you are less likely to encounter any COVID-19 related risk within our walls.

Even our combination pads and locks are wiped down after each session.

Embracing Social Distancing

As households and bubbles are the only ones able to play our games, it has been relatively straightforward to adapt our Escape Room to comply with current government guidelines.

Social distancing, as well as having accessible hand sanitising and washing facilities are available at all times to our players.

If a lockdown were to be reintroduced, we will protect your booking with us for you to change at a later date.

Likewise, if you wake up the morning of your game with a cough or a high temperature, get in touch with us, and we will happily rearrange your visit.

When it’s all said and done

Lockdown has undoubtedly brought out the best and worst of us all.

Come along to Exciting Escapes and let your hair down, re-ignite the bond with your family and have a good time!

Be rest assured that we are prepared, and all our players will experience minimum risk at our facility.

What are you waiting for?
